After the success of 'Jerry Springer - The Opera',
Andrew Lloyd Webber is now working on the musical
adaptation of another celebrity's life story...
This time it's the former British Prime Minister himself.
Well, it's not based on all his life, but more or less from
when he takes over the British Labour Party, gives it the
New Labour image, gets elected Prime Minister up to when
he eventually resigns...
Andrew Lloyd Webber says:
"We play with some of the conspiracy theories
saying that he was in fact a mole from the Conservative
Party and was supposed to infiltrate the Labour Party
and destroy it...
But, instead, he 'saw the light' and chose to modernise it
against all odds, destroying some of the socialist principles
that were the party's foundations in the process."
Wow! That was a big mouthful there...
The villains of the piece [or heroes, depending on which side
of the fence you are, obviously] will be left wing leaders
like Arthur Scargill and Ken Livingstone...
Should be fun ;-)
We now know that David Tennant has already
been chosen for the role of Tony Blair, but
I wonder who will play some of the Blair's babes...
or even his "special" friend Bush ;-p
Watch this space for more info about
'Tony Blair, The Musical' coming soon...
