I've added a FeedFlare thingy
in my posts' footer at last...
Neat isn't it. :-)
To cite FeedBurner,
with FeedFlare we can:
Give our subscribers easy ways to email, tag,
share, and act on the content we publish by
including as many or few of the services listed
below*. FeedFlare places a simple footer
at the bottom of each content item, helping us
to distribute, inform and create a community
around our content.
* You can't see the list here, but by looking at
this post's footer you still can have a fair idea
of what's on offer...
Now, why should there be a need for
a whole post to be dedicated to a
service such as FeedFlare?
You might ask yourselves.
Well, it's not really about FeedFlare itself
but more about how to add that darn cool
code to a Blogger Beta template
without too much hassle...
Ok, if you are haven't burned your feed
[as in: not registered your blog with FeedBurner] yet,
Doing it now would help... ;-)
Click on the image that says "Powered by FeedBurner"
at the top right hand side.. Add your blog url....
That's it: you're now ready for the next step.
- Go to the "optimise" option.
- Choose FeedFlare.
- Follow the instructions.
Now they ask you to choose
which blogging platform you use..
You choose Blogger, of course...
D'oh!... Aaaaargh!
The code you get is for the good old Classic Blogger!

Fortunately for us Blogger Beta Users,
an alternative/updated code has been posted here...
Read the instructions copy and paste the code
in your template and Loup's your uncle.
If it doesn't work, check that:
- You've remembered
to tick the little square that says
"Expand Widget Templates"
[Yep, the one that's placed at the
top right hand side of your
template edit frame.]
- Replaced the {FEEDURI} thingy
by the end of your FeedBurner url.
For example mine beingThat's it, you're ready.
http://feeds.feedburner.com/forward-and-share
my {FEEDURI} is forward-and-share
[you don't keep the "{ " and " } " by the way]
That's how that part of the code looks for my blog:"http://feeds.feedburner.com/~s/forward-and-share?i="
Copy and paste the code
from here after having added
your Feedburner url...
Add p between <> at the start of the code
and /p between <> at the end of the code
for a neater effect.. ;-)
Actually, adding those paragraph tags
did more than just give a neater effect,
they also fixed an error somehow...
Preview your results
[just in case] and,
if you're happy with
what you see... Save.
Your visitors can now submit your post
to all those cool sites/directories of your choice.
Later on, you might even want to
customize your FeedFlare's look. ;-)
The great thing about the FeedFlare widget
is that now I can change some of its content
whenever and as many times as I want
straight from my Feedburner account instead
of having to fiddle everytime with my blog's template...
Thanks to goygoycu for
pointing me to the direction
of the post with the updated
version.

out of it, pay a visit to Hackosphere

for you, but would still like having links to

Feel free to play with all those nifty little links. ;-)
Hi,
I'm ready to tear my hair out. I can't seem to get the Feedflare code for the posts to work. Could you email me the snippet of code from your template showing the code just above, the feedburner feedflare code, and the code just below? I'll of course swap out my feed for yours. :) But I keep getting the error message about Open quote is expected for attribute "expr:src" associated with an element type "script". And yes, I've expanded widgets, etc. Thanks. The email is Shelly.S@gmail.com. We've chatted on Blog Explosion. :)
Ok I'll do that...
I've tried to get my code in the post but some bits always disappeared
even when framed...
Emailing it on demand might be the safest way after all... :-)
Another thing I will add in my post, but as I don't want this advice to be delayed, I'll post it here first:
After you've pasted the code,
check if all the spaces are
in the right places exactly like
in the code in FeedBurner's Forum...
Something else I will add when
I update the post is that, if it
still doesn't work, I don't
mind at all emailing my code... :-)
I can't get the feedburner feedflare to work :((( I've double checked and triple checked. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Hi, again! Sorry to be a pain, but I noticed that in fact, feedflare is showing up in my posts that are in my feeds, but not on the posts in my blog. I saw that there were 2 options for posts and feeds, and I did in fact select to have both when I tried to create the code from feedburner site. any ideas?
Just tried both mentioned here to no avail. Over and over again. One time it was blank - the other time it did show up but with only the code at the post bottom. Any better links?
Sorry about the delay in answering...
[I'm net-less at the moment - long story etc... But that problem will hopefully be sorted out soon]
I'll try to email the code... like I did for other readers. It worked then, so hopefully it will work for you guys too. :-)
Talk soon...
Loup
Okay... I'm on the case right now
[trying to email the code].
One thing I've noticed though is that sometimes it takes a little while for the results to appear at the bottom of the posts.
Anyway, back to my emailing ;-)
Code emailed to Scott...
Hopefully that will work. :-)
Matkowsky:If you email me at
loup.dargent@gmail.com [with subject title: "Feedflare code needed"]
I'll try to email you the code asap... I can't promise it will be done straight away as I don't know yet when I'll be back online, but I'll try to do it as soon as possible after you've sent the email.
All the best everyone
and Happy New year. :-)
Loup
